What does ADHD “+” mean?

How I explain this: if you are someone who is solely looking to work on skills to manage ADHD symptoms; I may not be your girl. However, if you have ADHD and other mental health struggles you are looking to focus on; I am definitely your girl.

Meaning that I understand how ADHD can contribute to or worsen things like anxiety, depression, feeling “crazy” or “like I don’t know who I am”, dissociation, or obsessions and ruminations. I work with executive functioning skills deficits and help you find more effective coping skills with your ADHD in mind.

How I actively support client’s with ADHD:

  • I understand that sometimes maintaining attention for a 50 minute session can feel daunting; I am happy to work with you and break sessions up into shorter sessions.

  • Yep, I hear you. So here’s my deal; and I tell ALL clients this (not just clients with ADHD) - you are welcome to shoot me a quick text in the moment if something comes up that you don’t want to forget to bring up in session. My disclaimer here is that I will likely not respond, but acknowledge it and set our agenda with it at the start of session.

  • You will get not 1, but several appointment reminders; including morning of your appointment. I also send a text at the 5 minute mark and call you around the 8-10 minute mark if you’re running late (or forgot) your appointment time.
