Learn more on my approach to therapy and healing:
What to Expect: My therapeutic approach is rooted in creating a safe, nonjudgmental space for you as you process, work through, or identify various feelings, emotions, and patterns in your life. Many sessions start with reviewing the time between sessions, what stressors are presently coming up for you, and often connecting these back to bigger themes and/or your goals. This often looks like identifying what you might be feeling or needing in these areas, where they came from, or what barriers are coming up for you, together.
❋ Relational TherapyRelational therapy approach means I believe that through the therapeutic relationship we develop between each other and in fostering safety, nonjudgment, and unconditional positive regard you are able to identify and focus on how your relationships have shaped your self worth, self-esteem, and behaviors. I believe that moment of feeling seen and heard by someone you feel is authentically invested in your healing and growth can create a lot of positive change and awareness.
❋ Psychodynamic TherapyWe focus on your unconscious mind, your past experiences, relationships and identifying messages, particularly developed in childhood and their influence on current thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. This is particularly helpful with attachment wounds.
❋ Rational Emotive Behavior TherapyREBT helps clients identify irrational beliefs and thoughts that cause emotional distress, shame, and self-defeating behaviors. It operates on an “ABC model” where activating events leads to a belief which in turn has a behavioral or emotional consequence. REBT promotes unconditional self-acceptance.
❋ Other ModalitiesI was trained in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) approaches and sometimes pull from CBT, ACT, and DBT for specific interventions or coping skills. Please ask for more details.
